Experience:

Having previously focused on working in helping settings with children and young people, my journey as a therapist began in February 2021, when I joined a charity set up to provide short-term online therapy for individuals who were unable to access their usual in-person support due to the Covid pandemic. I also worked at a Well-Woman's Clinic, offering counselling to women having faced domestic violence.

Since then, before launching my own small private practice, I supported individuals aged 14 and up who were in crisis or at risk of self-harm or suicide. Additionally, I provided online counselling and assessments through a community-based university clinic while earning my postgraduate diploma and contributed my services to various other mental health charities.

Did you know in the UK, the titles "counsellor" and "psychotherapist" are not legally protected? This means anyone can practice as a counsellor or psychotherapist without the necessity of formal qualifications.

When selecting a therapist, it's essential to verify their credentials. Always ensure they are qualified (minimum level 4), carry professional insurance, and are registered with a reputable ethical body, such as the NCPS or BACP.
