Compassion Focused Therapy
Discovering compassion within
Explore how Compassion Focused Therapy can help you cultivate self-kindness, reduce self-criticism and chronic shame, and foster emotional well-being. Learn to truly see and value yourself.
What is Compassion Focused Therapy?
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is an innovative psychotherapeutic approach aimed at fostering self-compassion, grounded in neuroscientific insights about brain pathways. This method offers effective tools for emotional regulation, helping to diminish feelings of shame and enhance your overall mental well-being. CFT promotes a warm, understanding relationship with yourself, particularly in challenging times.
Who benefits from CFT?
CFT is particularly helpful for individuals who struggle with high self-criticism, chronic shame, or past trauma. It can also be highly effective for those experiencing anxiety, depression, or a general resistance to showing themselves kindness. If you find it challenging to be compassionate towards yourself, CFT can provide the pathways to develop a more understanding and supportive inner voice.
My unique approach to CFT
My approach to CFT is deeply rooted in my personal philosophy: "Te Video" – I see you. As someone living with neurodivergence and chronic health conditions I understand how society often overlooks the deeper self and the shame we can carry. I am dedicated to creating a space where you feel truly seen, heard, accepted, and valued. My practice is Pluralistic, meaning your unique experiences and needs guide our sessions. Using CFT I help you explore how self-criticism or shame impacts you and guide you towards building a more compassionate relationship with yourself, incorporating elements that resonate with your authentic self. You can either opt to have entire sessions (as many as you like) focused purely on CFT, or you can opt to have small elements of CFT bought into each session. You can also give it a try and put it to one side if you feel it isn't for you.
Positive changes through CFT
Through Compassion Focused Therapy, I hope you will experience a profound shift in your relationship with yourself. Clients often report reduced self-criticism, a greater sense of inner calm, and improved emotional regulation. You can expect to develop a stronger capacity for self-soothing and resilience when facing life's challenges. Ultimately, my goal is for you to feel more balanced, secure, and authentically connected to your true self, fostering lasting well-being and a kinder internal world.
