Somatic Focusing and Breathworks
Discover intentional breathing techniques that can help you manage stress, regulate emotions, and improve your overall well-being. At Te Video Counselling & Psychotherapy, we explore these methods with curiosity and care.

Understanding somatic focusing and breathwork
Somatic focusing and breathwork refer to a range of intentional breathing techniques designed to connect the mind and body. These practices help you tune into physical sensations and use breath as a tool for grounding and emotional processing. It's about bringing conscious awareness to your body's responses and using breath to navigate them.

Benefits for your well-being
Somatic focusing and breathwork techniques are valuable tools for managing stress, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing overall well-being. The benefits of somatic breathwork include increased oxygen in the blood, which supports concentration, energy levels, sleep quality, anxiety reduction, and immune system function. These practices also contribute to the regulation of the nervous system and can lead to a better mood.

My unique approach to breathwork and focusing
I offer somatic breathwork techniques or focusing as a quick response to emotional overwhelm during sessions, and sometimes a way to regulate at the start of a session or at the end. I understand that somatic breathwork is not comfortable for everyone, and I would never insist on its use. Instead, it is always offered as an option to explore with curiosity, ensuring your comfort and choice are prioritised. My aim is to provide tools that genuinely resonate with your individual needs and journey for you to take or leave as you please.
